Community Assessment Centres across the region were kept busy on Thursday - the first day the centres reopened.
NMDHB says a total of 805 tests were carried out across the Top of the South on Thursday.
The Nelson Community-Based Assessment Centre on Tāhunanui Drive, along with local GP's and the hospital, conducted 376 tests - the highest number in the region.
Tasman conducted 209 tests with another 220 carried out in Marlborough.
Across the country 15,703 tests were carried out on Thursday- a new record, bringing the total of test over the past 48 hours to 26,000.
NZ has 48 active cases of Covid-19, 30 of these are linked to the community outbreak in Auckland.
An announcement will be made at 5.30pm today regarding how the country will move forward with Alert Levels.

Here are your options for testing:
At your regular GP clinic (your family doctor). Appointments are needed, but there is no charge for testing. Phone ahead first if you are planning to visit your doctor and request a test. Golden Bay and Motueka GP clinics will increase their capacity for testing from Thursday 13 August.
After-hours clinics: The Medical and Injury Centre in Nelson and the Urgent Care Centre in Blenheim. After-hours centre information for Golden Bay, Motueka and Murchison is available online here:

At the Tahunanui CBAC in the former Suburban Club building on 168 Tahunanui Drive

Operating hours: 8am to 5pm from Thursday 13 August
Testing is available when required for inpatients in hospitals and for people presenting to EDs in emergencies.
