Police have named the Tasman man who died after a boat crash in Okiwi Bay on Sunday evening.
He was Bruce Douglas Flett, 69, from Lower Moutere.
Police say their thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
Flett died after two boats collided with each other in Okiwi Bay on Sunday evening.
A police spokesperson says they were called to the incident in the Marlborough Sounds at 7.25pm after two boats collided.
Two others were injured in the collision.
Okiwi Bay Voluntary Rural Fire Force fire chief Ian Montgomery said on Monday details were still emerging but the collision happened where boats were moored in the harbour.
He says the alarm was raised by one of those injured on board the crashed vessels.
Firefighters helped lift the most seriously injured person out of a boat into a waiting helicopter.
Ian told

he didn't know what type of boats were involved but neither sank in the collision. There were only three people believed to be on board the vessels when the accident happened.
"It was very, very dark and the cloud cover was quite low last night, " he says.
St John Ambulance spokesman Gerard Campbell says they transported one patient to Wairau Hospital with moderate injuries.
Police and Maritime NZ are continuing to make enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
