
Four people were injured when two cars ended up on Tāhunanui Beach after crashing through the barrier on Monday.
A police spokesperson says they were called shortly after midday when two vehicles crashed on Rocks Rd.
St John Ambulance spokesperson Gerard Campbell says four people were assessed by St John at the scene. Three had moderate injuries and one had minor injuries.
Two of those patients were taken to Nelson Hospital by ambulance.
Fire and Emergency NZ shift supervisor John Ditmer says two units were sent to the crash.
He says nobody was trapped but crews assisted police and ambulance for about half an hour.
