Police are still searching for a 'person of interest' after a shooting in Motueka on Tuesday.
A police spokesperson says they are following "strong lines of enquiry" in relation to the incident but are still looking for a person of interest.
Armed police responded to the shooting at a Motueka address just after 1pm Tuesday, where one person was shot.
St John Ambulance spokesman Gerard Campbell says the patient had been flown to Nelson Hospital by helicopter with moderate to minor injuries.
A Nelson Marlborough District Health Board spokesperson says the man was treated and discharged from the emergency department on Tuesday.
Nelson Bays area commander Inspector Paul Borrell said the firearms related event occured shortly after 1pm.
"One male has been injured as a result and is currently receiving medical attention."
Fry St was blocked by police at the intersections of Atkins and Wilkie Sts for much of the afternoon.
Inspector Borrell said police are working to locate another male believed to have been involved and who has not been seen since he left the Fry St area in a vehicle.
"Police are working to determine the full circumstances of what has occurred and believe those involved in this incident may be known to each other."
He said all police currently attending this incident are temporarily armed.
