A fuel tanker rolled, ending up in a creek on a Brightwater St on Monday morning, sparking an emergency services callout.
Fire, police and ambulance all attended the scene of the crash on River Terrace Rd, Brightwater around 8.40am.
St John Ambulance spokesman Gerard Campbell says ambulance did attend but weren't required as there were no injuries.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman says crews attended the scene but left soon after as there was no fuel leaking from the tanker.
He says Tasman District Council staff had also been called out.
A police spokesperson says the tanker was not blocking the road but there may be traffic delays as frontline staff assess the scene.
Fulton Hogan’s regional manager Paul O’Meara said he understood the driver was OK but shaken. He didn’t know at the time what had caused the accident but said there was no spillage.
“The tank has been through recent compliance and is double skinned and that has done it’s job. It was probably fortunate too that the truck stopped in a soft paddock area,” he says.
