Clifton Terrace School is putting on a production at the end of the term and the students are definitely looking forward to it.
We usually do a production every second year but last year, unfortunately because of Covid, that didn’t happen.
Called ‘What’s The Crime Mr Wolf?’, the story follows the work of Lord Feathers of Eiderdown and Fabletown's Forest Court as they bring charges against Mr Wolf for his dastardly deeds.
The prosecutors, Mr Hugh Mann and his assistant Justin Case call a range of characters to give evidence, from Johnny Mole (secret agent) to the Three Little Pigs and Red Riding Hood.
But are the well-known characters of fairy-tales just what they seem? And how can a non-vegetarian human accuse a wolf of being a meat eater?
In this courtroom comedy we have wacky, singing squirrels as clerks of the court; Sergeant Trunk, Constable Twig and police dog Bark from ‘special branch’, giving evidence.
There are protesters more interested in pizza meal deals than protesting and secret agents who self-destruct.
At the end of the show, the audience gets to vote on whether Mr Wolf is guilty or not.
All the senior and middle syndicate students get a chance to participate or have a role backstage.
Some other things we have a chance to do are painting backdrops, making props and being in the choir.
Our school uses the ticket money toward paying for the microphones, lighting and technology to make the show happen.
‘What’s the Crime Mr Wolf?’ is on at Clifton Terrace School, Tuesday July 6 at 11am and 7pm.
