Your local paper will not be delivered to your letterbox as normal today but is still available to be picked up from locations across the region.
Every Wednesday, 21,500 copies of Nelson Weekly and 12,500 copies of Waimea Weekly are delivered to homes and businesses across Nelson and Tasman. But with the country in Level 4 lockdown those papers cannot be delivered as usual.
By the time the Prime Minister announced that we were heading into Level 4 last night the papers had been printed and were being prepared for delivery.
As an essential service, community newspapers can be printed in Level 4 but must be distributed via drop stands instead of letterbox delivery.
So, our distribution team have swung into action and have placed 40 drop stands around the region to ensure you can stay connected. A list of where the stands are is below. It is important that if you decide to pick up a paper you adhere to all government advice around social distancing and mask wearing at the stand.
