A "massive" diesel spill trailing from Brightwater township to Eves Valley has prompted a warning to take care on slippery roads.
A Tasman District Council statement on Friday morning said that the diesel spill, running from Eves Valley along Waimea West Rd to behind Sprig + Fern Brewing Co in Brightwater - a distance of more than 4km, had made the road "extremely slippery" in places.
A contractor was installing signage and laying chip seal down earlier today to ensure traction on the road.
