
The Ministry of Health is reporting 605 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Nelson Marlborough region.
This number is just under Nelson Marlborough Health's figure of 604.
Discrepancies in the number of cases reported in the region occur due to different data cut-off times between the organisations.
Of the 604 new cases reported by the DHB, 176 are in located in Nelson, 148 are in Blenheim, 91 in Richmond, 64 in Motueka/Moutere, and 13 in Golden Bay.
A further 55 are in other areas in Tasman and 29 are in other areas of Marlborough. An additional 11 cases are marked as unknown/other.
Wednesday's new cases bring the region's total of active community cases up to 5,732.
Nationally there were 15,918 new community cases on Wednesday.
Fifteen people in the Nelson Marlborough region are currently in hospital with the virus.
The Ministry of Health says it's encouraging to see case numbers continuing to decline across the country.
MOH reported the deaths of another 13 men and one woman who had Covid-19, one of these deaths was in Nelson Marlborough.
The number includes people who died over the past six days, but have only just been reported to the MOH.
Five people were in their 70s, six in their 80s and three were in their 90s.
