A crash on Waimea Rd has caused traffic to gridlock from Nelson to Stoke and the feeder intersections this morning.
Police say they were advised at about 8.30am of a three vehicle crash involving two cars and a van on Waimea Rd - just north of the intersection with Scotia St.
Southbound traffic was blocked for a short time. There were no reports of injury.
The roads are also gridlocked heading into Nelson with Rocks Rd remaining closed due to slips, meaning the only route to the city from the western suburbs is through Waimea Rd.

There is also a diversion in place at Rutherford St due to on-going road works.
This is also affecting traffic heading into Nelson city, with traffic being diverted into the oncoming lane.

Around the region there are dozens of road closures due to slips, including the two state highways connecting Nelson with Marlborough.
