Tim King will continue to be Tasman’s mayor currently leading the race by more than 8000 votes.
Tim currently has 10,842 votes, with Mike Harvey on 2526 votes and Maxwell Clark sitting on 2378.
All of Saturday's figures are progress results with votes in transit and special votes still to be counted. The voter return in Tasman was 43.49 per cent, being 18,069 votes, excluding votes in transit to the processing centre and special votes.
Tim says he was on the golf course when he got the news.
"I wasn't playing that well, so it was nice to get the news and it was really good to get such a solid result," he says.
"I was a bit surprised by the margin to be fair, I really appreciate all the support."
Tim says it has been a challenging three years and he doesn't expect the next three years to be any easier.
"Obviously it would be nice to not have the disruptions of Covid, but there are definitely some challenges ahead of us. I'm looking forward to working with a new group of newly elected members."
Chris Hill and Celia Butler will look to continue their place as the two elected members of the Golden Bay Ward with the next closest; Quinn Lake, trailing by 859 votes.
The Richmond Ward is a hotly contested race with much closer numbers currently showing in the progress results.
Currently Kit Maling is in the lead with 3815 votes. newcomer Jo Ellis is next on 2311 votes and Mark Greening with 2078.
The fourth elected member is a tight race between Glen Daikee - 1966, Joni Tomsett - 1914, Rachel Stevenson - 1897, Maxwell Clark - 1811, Tim Tyler - 1433, Ray Griffith - 1432 and Adele Terrill - 1216 votes.
Stuart Bryant looks to remain in the Lakes-Murchison Ward with 691 votes, with Dean McNamara trailing with 303 votes.
Newcomers Dan Shallcrass and Mike Kininmonth are heading towards an elected seat in the Moutere-Waimea Ward sitting on 2407 and 2191 votes respectively. Current Moutere-Waimea Ward councillor Christeen Mackenzie leads the charge on 3231 votes.
Jono Trolove is currently just short of a seat, on 1859 votes.
Motueka Ward, which has three vacancies, will more than likely see Brent Maru take a seat, currently sitting on 2524 votes, ahead of Trindi Walker - 1723 and Barry Dowler - 1597.
Ian Palmer and Richard Brown have 1427 and 1100 votes respectively.
Brent Maru also leads the pack for the Motueka Community Board, which has four vacancies, but will be withdrawn if he is elected to the Motueka Ward.
He sits on 2774 votes with David Armstrong, Nick Hughes and Claire Hutt sitting on 1848, 1467 and 1264 votes respectively.
Should Brent be withdrawn from the community board, Dana Carter looks to potentially take the fourth seat, sitting on 977 votes.
