Rural fire crews were called to an Appleby property on Tuesday morning after a tractor set fire.
Both Appleby and Richmond volunteer brigades attended the fire off Golden Hills Rd shortly after 10.30 am on Tuesday.
Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ) shift manager, Alex Norris says they also responded crews from Brightwater and a tanker from Nelson, however these were not needed.
“When the Appleby crew arrived the fire was already 80 per cent out,” Alex says.
The fire was fully extinguished and left in the hands of the owner.
Richmond Volunteer Fire Brigade issued a warning; “Make sure you check your engines before you start them up.”
