The region is due for more heavy rain on Tuesday, with two weather warnings in place.
Golden Bay looks set to get the heaviest rain with Metservice warning of 120 to 160 mm of rain. Intensities of 10 to 25 mm per hour, especially Tuesday morning.
An orange heavy rain warning is in place for Tasman west of Motueka for the 18 hours from 5am Tuesday through to 11pm.
Metservice have again issued an orange heavy rain warning for Nelson and Tasman south and east of Motueka as well as Marlborough about and north of the Awatere Valley.
The warning, which is in place from 7am till 4pm Tuesday, says to expect 70 to 100 mm of rain about the Richmond and Bryant ranges and 50 to 70 mm elsewhere.
Peak rates of 15 to 25 mm an hour is expected from late Tuesday morning.
Nelson Tasman Civil Defence say with saturated ground conditions, they are watching this closely and the Civil Defence team is on standby, in case the weather becomes worse than forecast.
A rāhui remains in place for Tasman Bay until further notice due to wastewater overflows on Saturday.
Entering the water, gathering seafood and kai, in-shore fishing, and gathering of crayfish, crab, kina, and paua are all prohibited until the rāhui is lifted.
It covers all coastlines, river mouths, and floodwaters.
All surface water should also be treated as contaminated.
All grass sports fields remain closed until they can be assessed.
