Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Nelson Youth Theatre Company

An excited younger audience were treated to a fantastic live performance that captivated everyone throughout the show.
A few nerves during the first song, sung by the character Joseph, melted away and soon turned into a toe tapping 70 minutes of smiles, laughter and confident acting by the cast.
I loved the interaction and strong singing by the 11 brothers, and the audience seemed to enjoy the antics from the Camel.
Joseph had a strong voice and you could hear and understand all the songs throughout the show.
I loved the idea of the narrator being given to numerous actors and the different singing styles kept the show running smoothly.
The stage set was minimalist which worked very well in that you were focused on the singing, the fantastic costumes and makeup, and the characters themselves.
This young cast did themselves proud and everyone needs to go along and support these amazing your actors.
This is the ideal show to have in the school holidays and everyone who attends will be enthralled in a great show.
In a world of so much digital stimulation, live performance is a refreshing reminder that we can get more of a feel of the emotions from live theatre.
Well done to Richard and the cast.
