One person has been seriously injured following a crash on Motueka's main street on Tuesday afternoon.
Hato Hone St John confirmed that it responded to a motor vehicle incident at 1:35pm.
A spokesperson said one patient was assessed and treated before being transported to Nelson Hospital in a serious condition.
Police have confirmed that the victim was a pedestrian who was struck by a car.
SH60 High St is closed near the town centre while emergency services attend the scene of the crash.
The crash has closed High St to southbound traffic at the intersection of Pah St. The road is currently open to northbound traffic.
Drivers are asked to take extra care and follow the directions of emergency services on site. Travel delays are expected, and road users should factor this into their travel plans.
