Two women have been arrested following an assault outside Broadgreen Intermediate School on Monday afternoon.
Police say a 25-year-old and a 27-year-old are due to appear in Nelson District Court next Wednesday, August 30, on assault charges.
The arrest follows an appeal for public assistance by Police to help with its enquiries into the assault which happened at around 3pm outside the Nayland Rd school.
A statement on the Broadgreen Intermediate School Facebook page stated that the incident occurred when someone from outside the school entered the school grounds and had a disagreement with a student.
“This then continued after school onto Nayland Rd and the police were called,” the statement read.
Police says enquiries remain ongoing into the wider incident as it works to identify and interview other suspects.
"Anyone who saw the incident take place and has not yet spoken to Police is asked to contact Police via 105, either online or by phone, and quote file number 230822/1005," Police says.
