A man has been found with critical injuries near the Maitai Shared Pathway but it's unclear what happened to him.
"Police are making enquiries after a man was found with critical injuries near a walkway opposite Queens Gardens in Nelson last night," a police spokesperson said on Tuesday morning.
"At this stage it’s unclear how the man was injured and further enquiries are being undertaken.
"There will be a police presence in the area around the Maitai pathway, near the intersection of Bridge St and Tasman St today, as a scene examination is carried out."
