Waka Kotahi has advised motorists travelling between Richmond and Motueka to expect delays following a serious crash near the Māpua Dr intersection this afternoon.
The crash involving a car and a motorcycle, was reported just after 2:30pm this afternoon.
“The highway is currently closed while emergency services and contractors attend the crash scene,” Waka Kotahi says.
“The closure is expected to be in place for some time.”
“Drivers should avoid the area and use alternative routes. Traffic delays can be expected until the crash scene is cleared.”
Police says initial indications are that injuries have been sustained.
