Update 10am: power has been restored.
Nelson CBD is currently without power after a fault in an inner-city substation.
A Nelson Electricity statement says fault crews have been dispatched to back-feed the network after a fault at the Bank Lane Substation cut power to the city.
This means power will be re-routed from elsewhere to supply the CBD.
The fault was reported at 9.20am with Nelson Electricity aiming for a restoration time of 10am.
