A person has been transported to Nelson Hospital in a critical condition after a medical-related event on Thursday.
A section of Salisbury Rd was closed on Thursday morning after emergency services were notified of the event near Waimea College shortly before 8.30am.
A St John spokesperson says one ambulance and one rapid response unit were on site, with the patient being assessed and transported to hospital.
Police were on site to manage traffic.
