Enquiries by Police are continuing after a person was located deceased at a rural property on Pigville Road in Tākaka at around 4pm on Tuesday, 12 March.
Police says a scene examination is ongoing today, and a post-mortem examination is also expected to be completed in the next few days.
It says formal identification is also yet to take place.
Police says more information will be released when it is in a position to do so.
