Decontaminating flippers, checking water quality and building miniature waka were on the schedule for the 16 schools at the Tasman Mission last Friday.
The annual event, organised by the Tasman District Council and held at Whenua Iti Outdoors, was attended by environmentally savvy students from Nelson and Tasman.
Each group competed to complete stations set up by 20 local agencies such as Tasman Bay Guardians and the District Health Board.
The aim was environmental education, as well as gaining awareness of the area’s agencies and their respective vision.
TDC education and partnership officer CJ Webster says it was a marvellous event, with agencies being very creative with their stations.
