The children at Greenwood Kindergarten competed in a fundraiser Challenge-a-thon last week, doing laps of a challenge course to raise money for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand.
They were supporting the efforts of their teacher Bec Bryan, who will be travelling to Auckland to compete in her second Fire Fighter Sky Tower Challenge on 18 May.
The children even got to have a turn at squirting a make-shift fire hose, which teacher Shayne Hall created from the centre’s multi-faceted water blaster.
They raised more than $300 for their efforts, all of which goes directly to the charity, which supports the 21,000 Kiwis living with blood cancer.
