The best donated literature was flying off the tables at the opening days of the Founders Annual Book Fair.
The event, which has been held for more than four decades, fundraises for capital projects at Founders Heritage Park and enables books that would otherwise go to landfill to be enjoyed by bookworms.
Co-ordinator Susan Johnson says the first two days of the nine-day bonanza had sketched “very happy” crowds.
“All the books that we have for sale are donated by the community, they’re a great bargain and people have been very happy so far,” she says.
The fair will conclude on 9 June, and records, CDs, tapes, DVDs, jigsaws and games are also available.
