Two people and a puppy have been rescued after a catamaran capsized in Tasman Bay on Sunday morning.
Nelson Harbourmaster says they were cold but safe after they made the mayday call on their waterproof communication device.
The vessel has been brought into Nelson Harbour and is moored by the Boulder Bank. It will be recovered on Monday when conditions ease.
The rig and sails are still in the bay marked with a red buoy. Efforts will be made to recover them when weather allows.
