More than 1,000 people with 612 campervans and caravans filled the Tapawera Area School grounds and spilled over onto rugby fields and paddocks earlier this month for the annual Music in the Mountains rally.
Graham Wilson from the Nelson-Tasman Motor Caravan Association described it as a great rally and a good fundraiser for the local community.
The rally has been run since 2007 when it began with just 100 vehicles, and has grown over the years as an annual event to congregate and enjoy music in the small community.
It is the main fundraiser of the year for many of the local groups and organisations who fed the crowd or opened businesses and facilities for the duration of the rally.
