More than $1000 has been raised as more than 40 people danced their hearts out at a fundraising event on Saturday evening.
The event, run as a collaboration between EJ Zumba and Women’s Support Motueka, was raising funds for counselling sessions for women who have been affected by family harm.
Women’s Support Motueka manager Maluz Moreno says that a counselling session is valued at $70, and thanks to this fundraiser, vital help can be provided to many women in the community.
“Not only did we raise essential funds for our free counselling services, but we also helped spread awareness about the work we do at Women’s Support Motueka. Huge thanks to the Zumba community and the people who donated, danced and supported this cause.”
