Another round will be on the Marchfest tab for its 18th instalment.
The Founders Heritage Park craft beer celebration will raise its glass between 29 and 30 March, with live music, local artisan kai, other libations and non-alcoholic drinks also on offer.
Event manager Shelley Haring says a second day was included for the first time because “people want more” and it will give the festival a stronger brew.
“Day one will be the main event, which is R18, with day two a family-friendly event which includes an all-you-can-eat barbecue lunch,” she says.
“People come from all over New Zealand, it’s a bit of a marker on the beer festival map, so that’s why making it a weekend was really good as well.”
The available beers at Marchfest are specially commissioned for its crawl, and attendees will be the first to sip the latest brews from 14 different breweries, 11 of which are based in Nelson Tasman.
Shelley says Saturday’s session includes a home brew zone for people to quench their beer-making knowledge, a tasting bar, and brewing demonstrations.
Nine music acts will also keep the festival hopping over both days, with headline act ZED, local artists DJ King B, DJ Tunesifter, Bryce Wastney, The Leftovers, Runaway and Home Sweet Homies, along with acoustic singer Floko, and country singer Jackie Bristow.
Shelley says around 1500 tickets have been sold and tickets will remain on sale at the gate.
