Kāinga Ora has been planning to build homes on the former Masonic Lodge site since 2022, however the project was put on hold in 2024.
Regional director for Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast, Julia Campbell, says an amendment to the resource consent was lodged in April and they anticipate construction to start this August
“A few minor changes were made to the original proposed design to ensure we can build the homes as cost effectively as possible,” she says.
There will still be six two-bedroom, two-storey homes and ten three-bedroom, two-storey homes.
The homes are expected to be completed in early 2026.
