Popped corks, oysters on the half shell and violin music. These were well-rigged facets to accompany last Wednesday’s launch of a lavish main amenities building for residents at the Tāhunanui Hills’ Coastal View Lifestyle Village.
Named The Yacht Club, its amenities include a movie theatre, indoor heated swimming pool, spa, restaurant, café, bar, bakery, massage room, hairdressing salon, gymnasium, library and wellness centre.
The space was constructed by Gibbons Naylor. Village managing director Simon O’Dowd says the space promises to enhance the village’s social offerings and was an exciting inclusion in its development, with 54 more houses planned.
“The facility will have expansive views over Tasman Bay and will be an entertainment and activities centre for village residents,” he says.
Coastal View is a subsidiary of Qestral Corporation Limited that owns and operates retirement villages throughout Aotearoa.
The Coastal View Lifestyle Village was established in March 2021, and the 12-hectare flat site adjacent to the Tasman Heights residential development has 60 current houses and a care centre with 59 suites.
The village offers independent living and healthcare services including a dementia facility with 20 suites.
