A log truck driver has died after a crash on Wairoa Gorge Rd.
A police spokesperson says the driver was unresponsive when emergency services arrived and sadly was unable to be revived.
The spokesperson says they were advised that a log truck had gone off the road at 9.40am on Thursday.
The road is currently closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducts a scene examination.
