A partnership worth $45k will support the development of young people through Whenua Iti Outdoors.
Pitt & Moore Lawyers, based in Nelson, have committed $45,000 in sponsorship over a three-year period to support local youth development initiatives.
The sponsorship will directly contribute to Whenua Iti Outdoors’ mission to deliver transformative, outdoor-based learning experiences that support the self-development and wellbeing of rangatahi (young people) across Te Tauihu.
Pitt & Moore partner Geoff Caradus says the significant sponsorship will better enable Whenua Iti to undertake their work.
“We recognise the difference that they are making in so many people’s lives at such a crucial point in their development. We’re proud to be associated with an organisation that helps our youth to realise their full potential,” he says.
Whenua Iti Outdoors chief executive, Mark Bruce-Miller, labelled the announcement as a “significant boost” for the entire region.
“We’re incredibly grateful that Pitt & Moore recognise the importance of supporting youth development programmes for local rangatahi.
“The three-year sponsorship agreement allows us to actively plan for the future and ensure that our programmes are available for as many young people as possible.
Mark says the latest mental health statistics for young people are increasingly worrying.
“And we know that outdoor experiences through our programmes help develop critical skills like resilience, communication and self-confidence.
“This means that the kinds of programmes we offer are as important now as they have ever been to support youth heading into the workforce,” he says.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering the next generation and building stronger, more resilient communities across the region.
