Meet Vetlife Richmond’s little flood-survivor lamb.
The ewe lamb was born on the Thursday night right before the flooding hit at team member Stacey Gray’s Belgrove property.
By Friday afternoon, the weather had taken a turn and so had the newborn’s condition. She got cold very quickly, became weak, and couldn’t stand or feed off her mum anymore.
Stacey says if they had had somewhere dry to move her and mum to, they would’ve. But the paddocks were becoming flooded, so she was rescued and brought up to the house for the night and into Vetlife Richmond the next day.
With some warm milk, a dry blanket, and lots of cuddles, she perked up and is now doing so much better.
The team at Vetlife Richmond have loved hanging out with her and she’s enjoyed stealing hearts, left, right and centre.
She’s been nicknamed Rain, but Stacey and the Vetlife team are searching for a good forever name for her. Head to the Vetlife (Tasman) Facebook page to give your suggestion.
