A Harley Davidson initiative is looking to raise money for Salvation Army by getting riders together for a day of camaraderie.
United We Ride will bring together motorcyclists from all over Australasia for a joint ride on Saturday, 6 September, to unite and give back to those in need.
Filco Farm & Sport’s Rod Payne, who has already registered to ride, says, while it’s a Harley initiative, it’s open to riders of any motorbike brand.
Riders will gather at Filco’s Annesbrook site from 11am, with the ride leaving at 1pm sharp.
“We’re going to the Pelorus Tavern, or what used to be the old Trout Hotel in Canvastown,” Rod says.
Filco will put on nibbles at the tavern, before riders convoy back to Nelson. Riders need to pre-register online at www.unitedwerideanz.com and find the Filco ride.
The registration is the main fundraising, but riders can also create a profile to encourage further funds to be donated.
All proceeds will go to the Salvation Army. For everyone’s safety, make sure your bike has a valid W.O.F and rego, and don’t forget your helmet.
