The biggest and reportedly the best iteration of the annual Tasman National Art Awards is open until this Saturday, with the committee thrilled with public feedback thus far.
Awards chair Anna Pickersgill-Brown says 261 artists submitted 440 works between them, with 123 pieces chosen for the exhibition.
She reckons that both attendance and sales have surpassed previous years, stating that the public has declared 2025’s event to be the best yet.
Collingwood’s Pauline Watts, pictured with awards patron Paul Deacon, has been named supreme winner for her painting ‘Kaituna River’, with the people’s choice award still up for grabs.
The art awards are being held at the Māpua Community Hall, with doors closing for the final time on Saturday, 4 October at 4.30pm.
