“A really good mix of people” stocked up on sometimes intricately fashioned novel wares at the biannual Boutique Craft Market at Founders Heritage Park on Sunday.
Operated by Create Events Limited, its director, Jennifer Blanchet, says around 40 stallholders’ offerings, including children’s clothing, pottery, candles, jewellery, handmade magnets, knitted items, and greeting cards, were charming alternatives to those sold in big-box retail stores.
“It’s showing that creative and artistic side,” she says. “The older generation respects the time and the effort that goes into craft things... but then we have got a few young people that have come through, and they like the art side of it.”
