The magic of Christmas will be shining bright in Richmond this year, thanks to the generosity and community spirit of Quail Valley Free Range, who have come on board as the new naming sponsor of the Richmond Santa Parade.
After Pak’nSave Richmond stepped back earlier this year, there was a moment of uncertainty about the parade’s future.
But in true Tasman fashion, the community rallied, and Quail Valley Free Range answered the call, ensuring one of our most beloved events continues to bring smiles to local families this festive season.
For the Ewing Family and Quail Valley Free Range team, the decision to get behind the parade came from a place of gratitude.
“We have such a great community, and the support we received during the recent floods was so amazing,” says Jill Ewing. “Volunteer groups gave up their time and energy to help, so we thought we could do our bit to help keep the parade going for the kids and families of the Richmond area – so why not?”
The family-run business has deep roots in the region, and sponsoring the parade felt like a natural fit.
“With over 45 years in business and now three generations in our family business, we like to think family is always the most important,” Jill says. “Seeing the joy on the kids’ faces with all the different floats, it’s truly special to still be able to share that with our own grandkids.”
While the details of Quail Valley’s own float are still under wraps, Jill hints that their marketing team may have some festive surprises in store.
“Not too sure what our marketing team have planned just yet!”
For Richmond Unlimited, the group behind organising the event, the new sponsorship has brought a huge sense of relief and excitement.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Quail Valley Free Range as the new naming sponsor for the Richmond Santa Parade,” says Maria Ingram from Richmond Unlimited. “Their commitment for the next three years is a huge show of support for our community and ensures this much-loved event can continue to grow.”
Maria says the Santa Parade is a reflection of the creativity and heart of the people who make Richmond such a special place.
“The Richmond Santa Parade is special because of the incredible community spirit behind it. Every year we’re blown away by the creativity, effort, and enthusiasm that people pour into their floats,” she says.
“It’s a wonderful reminder of how our community comes together to celebrate, and we can’t wait to see what everyone creates this year.”
This year’s parade promises all the hallmarks locals love with colourful floats, smiling faces, festive tunes, and of course, a visit from the man in red himself.
Organisers are encouraging anyone who wants to take part to sign up and be part of the fun.
“There’s still time for people to sign up to be part of this iconic Richmond event,” Maria says.
