The South Island Woodchopping Championships were a feature of the 131st annual A&P Show at Richmond Park over the weekend.
Up to 70 axemen and women came out swinging and sawing at the champs.
Contestants had to be selected, ensuring high quality competition.
Southland-based Welshman Simon Bond won the Standing Chop and Westport’s Neil Hately took out the Underhand Chop.
