A strong wind warning has been issued for Nelson Tasman from Monday evening.
The Metservice warning is in affect for Marlborough Sounds, Nelson, and the districts of Buller, Grey and Westland north of Mount Cook from 10pm Monday to 1pm Tuesday.
Metservice wants of severe gale east to southeast winds gusting 120kmh in exposed places with a minimal chance of upgrading to a Red Warning.
Damage to trees, powerlines, and unsecured structures is possible. Driving may be difficult, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.
