The first concrete has been poured for the Arvida Waimea Plains retirement village care centre in Richmond.
Once completed, the centre on lower Queen St will deliver 24 care units and 16 dementia units, along with a café, hydrotherapy spa and gym for the village.
The first residents are expected to move into the care centre in August 2027.
Arvida’s development manager Shane Mickell and project manager Ethan Richards were there as the first concrete was poured last week.
