UPDATE 4.20pm: The road remains closed between the Harley Rd/Robinson Rd intersection. Police SCU is undertaking an investigation, which means the road is expected to remain closed for a few hours. Motorists are being asked to consider detouring via Moutere Highway or delaying their journey, if possible.
Emergency services have been called to a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of the Coastal Highway (SH60) and Easton Loop in Tasman on Friday afternoon.
Police say they were called to the scene about 2.45pm.
A spokesperson from Hato Hone St John says they responded with one ambulance, one rapid response unit, and one manager.
“Our crews assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Nelson hospital in a moderate condition.”
