Kāinga Ora is set to expand its housing portfolio in Richmond with the acquisition of six new homes currently under construction at 22 George St.
The government housing agency has confirmed it will purchase the properties from developer George 22 Ltd once completed, with ownership expected to transfer in mid-2026, subject to agreed conditions being met.
A Kāinga Ora spokesperson says that construction started in October 2025, and completion is expected in June this year.
It will deliver a mix of housing options, including one two-bedroom home and five three-bedroom homes, aimed at accommodating a variety of household needs.
The homes are being built in a two-level, terrace-style design, offering a modern and efficient use of space.
