Thousands turned out across the region on Saturday morning to commemorate Anzac Day and pay tribute to the ANZACs who landed at Gallipoli on April 25, 1915.
Services were spread across the region with the Dawn Service at Nelson's Anzac Park, and services and wreath layings at Marsden Cemetery, Wakapuaka Cemetery, Queens Gardens, Wakapuaka Hall and Piki Mai, before a Nelson Civic Service at Nelson Cathedral.
Services also spanned Tasman, with a Dawn Service in Tākaka and commemorations Wakefield, Motueka, Tapawera, Murchison, Richmond, Upper Moutere, Riwaka and Ngātimoti.
A ceremonial cannon was fired once to conclude the Marsden service before the cannon moved to the Honest Lawyer for a 1pm ceremonial firing.
