Listed with Colliers in conjunction with JLL, it is the first time the hotel, which is currently owned by Talley's Group, has been for sale in 35 years.
Built in 1971 on the historic Nelson Brewery site and rising nine storeys above Nelson's city centre, The Rutherford Hotel has stood as an enduring landmark and cornerstone of the region's hospitality sector, the listing states.
The hotel comes equipped with 113 guest rooms, comprehensive conference facilities accommodating up to 700 delegates, and full food and beverage operations.
The central Nelson site is approximately 6,000 sqm of freehold land with approximately 16,450 sqm of building area.
Nelson City Council's 2024 rating valuation puts the land value at $9.1million with $16.9m of improvements giving a capital valuation of $26million.
