While the region’s Downer crew have retained their title as tug-of-war champions at the Heave for Hospice, it was Tasman District Council who came away with top honours in the Tenacity Division.
Downer took out the Power Division in the fundraiser on Friday evening. The bi-annual event at the top of Trafalgar St drew big crowds as teams worked to pull their opponents over the line.
Tasman District Council dragged off the likes of Nelson City Council, Atkinson Crehan Law and Sprig + Fern Brewing.
A Fundraising Champion – the team who raised the most for the hospice service - will be announced on Friday, 5 June. As of Monday, Gibbons was holding the lead for the most funds raised at $2665.
