Construction will begin soon on a two-storey development of 10 townhouses beside Jubilee Park on Gladstone Rd.
Whiteridge Construction director Rhys Horncastle says the project has been years in the making and aims to meet growing demand for smaller, low-maintenance homes close to Richmond’s amenities.
The development borders the park’s southern entrance and is expected to be completed early next year. He expects the townhouses to be priced from $475,000 and says they will be one of the most affordable opportunities to buy a brand-new townhouse in central Richmond.
“Not everyone is looking for a large family home on a big section. Richmond continues to evolve, and people are looking for different living choices. There are first-home buyers, professionals, downsizers and retirees who want to enjoy everything Richmond has to offer without the upkeep of a larger property.”
The project is one of two developments planned by Whiteridge Construction along Gladstone Rd. A further 15 townhouses, offering two and three-bedroom options, are planned further along the road.
