The Chemist Warehouse is coming to Richmond, with signs outside the new store announcing it is now hiring.
A refit is underway in the former Big Sip, Noodle Canteen and Mike Greer premises on the corner of State Highway 6 and Lower Queen St.
Jared Hazeldine of Hazeldine Construction says the building is being fitted out as an Ultra Beauty store for Chemist Warehouse which he says has purchased the high-profile site. He expects the work to be completed by September, with the store opening soon after.
He has worked on numerous Chemist Warehouse stores and says: “everything will go yellow”, including the large yellow balloon that flies above many of its stores.
The Chemist Warehouse was unable to provide any information or an estimated opening date for a Richmond store.
While the refit of existing premises is taking place for Chemist Warehouse, on the other side of the highway at McGlashen Ave, Bargain Chemist is part of the development on the former SBL bus site which is expected to open by Christmas.
