Nelson Suburbs has stormed into the quarterfinals of the Chatham Cup as the goal rush continues.
Wind and rain couldn’t dampen last year’s cup semifinalists as they overwhelmed Dunedin side Northern AFC 5-0 at Saxton Field on Saturday to advance to the last eight in the knockout competition.
American midfielder Johnny Reynolds scored the first two goals, and his countryman Trevin Myers returned from injury to get one, too.
Suburbs will now face unbeaten Southern Premier League leader Cashmere Technical in the quarterfinals but, before then, they will host Northern again, in the league, on Sunday.
The Nelson outfit has amassed nine goals in its last two matches.
