Nelson is set to gain additional diagnostic imaging capacity with a new radiology clinic planned for Selwyn Place.
Reform Radiology has announced it will open a purpose-built clinic at 81 Selwyn Place, next to the Morrison Square development, in early 2027.
The development marks the expansion of Reform Radiology’s Christchurch operation into Nelson, with the company partnering with local clinicians to provide a regionally focused service aimed at improving access, capacity and choice for patients across the region.
Construction has started and the project is expected to be completed in early 2027.
Nelson-based radiologist Dr Dan Holbert says access to high-quality diagnostic imaging plays a key role in patient care.
“Having access to high-quality diagnostic imaging is an important part of timely clinical decision-making.
“The new clinic will add valuable imaging capacity in the region and give local clinicians and patients greater access to a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services, supported by modern technology and specialist expertise.”
General manager of Reform Radiology Paul Mouthaan says the new clinic will help people access services closer to home.
“Bringing our experience and technology to the Nelson region means people here will get the imaging and care they need, closer to home.”
Recruitment is underway for an operations manager to help establish the clinic ahead of its opening, with further appointments expected in the coming months.
