Police are responding to a "serious incident" in Nelson this afternoon.
About 12pm Friday, police were called to Quarantine Road and are also in attendance on Parkers Road.
A police spokesperson says there is no threat to public safety, but cordons are in place.
St John ambulance is on scene, but no information is available on injuries.
Members of the public are being asked to avoid both areas while police respond.
